HOME » EuCARE DATABASE

Under approval of the Scientific Board, the EuCARE database is available for scientific studies conforming to the existing regulations (e.g. the GDPR) and to the EuCARE Authorship Policies.

The EuCARE clinical cohorts have enrolled over 50,000 patients.

The clinical cohorts studies have been set up to evaluate the association between circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants and the risk of developing short, mid and long-term clinical outcomes.

The three cohorts part of the clinical studies are the hospitalised patients with COVID-19 (Hospitalised) cohort, the long-term sequelae of COVID-19 symptoms after the acute infection (Post-COVID) cohort and the Health Care Workers (HCW) cohort.

The EuCARE laboratory network performs the required virological and immunological assays to answer the key questions on SARS-CoV-2 variants, including the issues of escape from vaccination or natural immunization with another variant and that of detectability by specific diagnostic systems.

Over 9,000 samples were collected to date and are currently stored in the virtual biobank.

In the EuCARE school study more than 3,000 students and teachers, representing classes from various schools were enrolled and included in the project.
