EuCARE schools study protocol published online

There are some contradictory results regarding SARS-CoV-2 transmission in schools. Some recent studies showed that schools opening did not increase the community spread. On the other hand, distance learning was associated with a negative impact on learning, sociability and psychological health. For that reason, studies and solutions are highly needed to support safe schools opening.

In our study, we will use the Lolli-Methode (LM), which “is a strategy for epidemiological surveillance and early intervention aimed at SARS-CoV-2 outbreaks reduction in schools, relying on polymerase chain reaction analysis of pooled saliva samples. While we implement this study in schools in Italy, Portugal, Germany and Mexico, the manuscript of the study protocol has now been published online!

Thank you to all the collaborators and to all the schools participating in the study
