🎥 EuCARE: Innovating Testing Methods for Schools and Daycare Facilities

In this interview, Rolf Kaiser, Professor of Virology at the University of Cologne, shares the success of the “Lolli-Method”, a groundbreaking approach to COVID-19 testing in schools and daycare facilities.

💡 What is the Lolli-Methode?

  • A simple, child-friendly testing method where children chew on a swab, making the process efficient and non-invasive.
  • Groups of swabs were tested together, reducing disruption and easing the process for educators and children alike.

🧪 Impact:

  • The testing, conducted twice a week, was effective reducing clusters in particular for teachers and in high school.
  • Almost 7 million children and students were tested using this method between 2020 and 2021, helping to keep schools and daycare facilities open during the pandemic.

EuCARE continues to explore innovative solutions to protect children and educators while ensuring educational continuity. 🌍📚
