Two days of science, reflection and meaningful conversations in Rome.
The Pandemic Preparedness Rome Conference, held on 1–2 October 2026, brought together leading scientists, researchers and policymakers to reflect on the lessons of COVID-19 and explore how we can better prepare for future pandemics.
More than the final event of the EuCARE project, the conference reflected a joint effort by EuCARE, VERDI and ORCHESTRA, guided by the Cohorts Coordination Board (CCB).
From clinical research and Long COVID to vaccination, schools and public health policy, the discussions encouraged open dialogue, critical reflection and a shared commitment to learning from past challenges.
One of the conference’s key outcomes will be the Joint Statement on Future Pandemic Preparedness, bringing together ten key points to help carry these lessons forward.
The true legacy of research is not only what we discover, but what we do with that knowledge.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to these two inspiring days.
The conversation continues. The legacy lives on. 💙
